City of Frisco Parks & Recreation

Purpose

We believe play is essential for people of all ages and abilities. The Play Fund provides need-based grants to City of Frisco residents for camps, classes, special events, and recreation center memberships. No kid or adult should have to sit on the sidelines because of family finances.

Qualification

Proof of Frisco Residency: A current driver’s license or state ID card with a utility bill, car insurance or lease agreement will be accepted. Applicants living outside of Frisco city limits, but in Frisco ISD boundaries are considered non-residents.
Documentation of financial need: A letter of qualification from Frisco Family Services, FISD free or reduced lunch program, or other documentation showing receipt of government assistance will be accepted.

Program Policies

Applicants may qualify as an individual or a family.
Play Funds may be used towards any Play Frisco program, special event or membership at the Frisco Athletic Center or The Grove at Frisco Commons.
Funds expire seasonally for programs (April, August, and December) and may not be used in a future season. A new application is required for each season.
Funds expire annually for memberships and my not be used for future years. A new application is required for each year.
Transfers, withdrawals, and refunds are not permitted. If the selected program is canceled, the award recipient may select a replacement program from the same season.
Award recipients must attend a minimum of 75% of the program class days to maintain eligibility for future program assistance. The City of Frisco reserves the right to revoke any Play Fund award(s) at any time for any reason.
